Chandala is one of the parasites that disturbs sleep at night, and once it appears, it does not go away easily. This insect has even increased in recent years, and in some countries the situation with these bloodsuckers has even worsened. Most calls to the disinfection center in Petropavlovsk are related to the fight against these pests. The deputy director of the branch “Disinfection Center of the North Kazakhstan Region” of the NCE “National Center of Expertise” Zhuldyzbek Zhamantayev  told a Kazinform correspondent about the fight against parasites, including ringworm .

- Tell us about the disinfection center, its work, directions...

- First of all, let's talk about the task of the disinfection center; we carry out disinfection, disinfestation and deratization to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Disinfection is a complex activity aimed at destroying pathogens of infectious and parasitic diseases in the external environment. Disinsection is work to destroy worms, ants and mosquitoes in an open space or in an apartment, that is, in a certain area. Deratization is the fight against rodents.

As part of the state order, the branch carries out final disinfection, chamber disinfection, preventive deratization and disinsection in natural foci of high-risk infections, in foci of infectious and parasitic diseases registered among the population of the region. In addition, to prevent infectious and parasitic diseases, we work on the basis of agreements upon requests from the local population, individuals and legal entities.

- What drugs do you use?

- We use insecticides “Foscon 55”, “Alfatsin 10%”, “Favorit” of 4 classes, approved for use in the country. It is allowed to use these drugs without limiting the area of ​​application. It is allowed to carry out processing work in residential premises using all available preparations. The drugs differ from each other in the substances included in their composition, have an antiparasitic effect and depend on the duration of the residual effect of the drug. For example, after treatment with Foskon 55, the effect of the drug on pests lasts for 1 month, the effect of Favorit lasts for 3 months, and the effect of Alfacin 10% lasts more. than 1 month.

- Isn't this dangerous for the lives of people and animals?

- Of course, the direct impact of disinfection and disinfestation drugs on the human body is enormous, so when carrying out these activities it is better to observe safety precautions. In the premises where disinfection and disinsection are carried out, the presence of people, pets, and food storage is prohibited. And if technical safety measures are not observed, vapors from the treatment liquid will enter the human body through the respiratory system, and damage to human health will depend on how long the person was in the treated room. However, no matter how strong or light intoxication is obtained, it is undoubtedly harmful to human health.

- How is pest control carried out? For example, suppose an invitation comes...

— Pest control is one of the large-scale activities. When an invitation or request is received, first of all, work is carried out to establish the cause of the appearance of pests, their number and type. After talking with the owners of apartments and houses, in what conditions, how many there are, whether neighbors have complaints about pests - all issues will be determined. All this ultimately affects the efficiency of the work carried out. The date and time of the cleaning work are determined in advance, and other neighbors must be informed about the disinfestation measures, date and time.

Pest control usually takes 15-30 minutes. Residents should prepare for pest control in advance. To do this: wash and iron bed linen and bedspreads at high temperature, vacuum the apartment, wipe off dust, wash the floor. Close dishes in the kitchen carefully. In the bathrooms, hide all personal hygiene items, towels and bathrobes, all jars of shampoos, gels, creams. These recommendations are relevant for preparing for disinfestation of private houses, country houses and cottages. In addition, it is necessary to make it possible to exit onto the roof. Because there may be a nest of pests there.

- Several tragic incidents following pest disinfection have been reported in the country. For example, we know that two children died in Aktau, and five souls from one family were poisoned in the Mangistau region. What should you remember to prevent such things from happening?

- If you notice that pests have appeared in your home and you don’t know how to deal with them, do not buy unknown drugs that are sold in stores and carry out the treatment yourself! In this case, you must contact the relevant specialized institutions and specialists. Do not take any anti-pest drugs that are poisonous because they are meant to kill. If your apartment is being disinfested, you must notify your neighbors.

- What were the main invitations received in Petropavlovsk? How are things going in the regions? What is the reason?

- Most of the applications received by the Disinfection Center come from the regional center of Petropavlovsk. At the end of 11 months of this year, we went out and handled 173 calls. Of these, 140 applications were received for cockroach control, 31 for cockroach control and 2 for spider control. No statements were registered by region. The main reason for the appearance of pests is non-compliance with sanitary standards in the premises, which allows creating favorable conditions for the existence and reproduction of pests, etc.

- How long will the results of disinfestation last?

- Long-term preservation of results after disinfestation is due to the impact of the first drugs used on pests. As for fulfilling the requirements specified in the instructions for use of the drug, secondly, owners of houses and apartments must comply with sanitary standards in the premises.

- What is the most harmful among the insects that appear at home?

- It is incorrect to divide pests into groups with less or greater harm to human life and health. The presence of rodents and insects in objects, including objects of large crowds of people, directly affects its sanitary and epidemiological condition. Carriers of acute intestinal infections of a bacterial and viral nature can be flies, cockroaches and other insects, including cockroaches of especially dangerous infections. Regular work to destroy insects prevents the spread of infectious diseases and epidemiological complications.

-  What harm does Shackle cause?

— A person may not feel the bite of the shackles. But then red spots appear on the person’s body, the bite site becomes red and itchy, causing discomfort and anxiety. In addition, the mosquito is a carrier of many diseases. Shackle is a fast-moving insect. They move from apartment to apartment along the roof and can enter the house through an open window from the street. Insects can carry all types of bacteria. Dirt, bacteria and viruses enter the bloodstream from the paw, body or beak when a raccoon bites a wound on the skin. In addition, viruses are transmitted from sick to healthy people.

- The shackle is invisible. How to find out if candela has appeared at home, what are the symptoms?

- Usually one of the shackles penetrates the room, and people do not notice or pay attention to its bite. This insect reproduces very quickly, and only when it multiplies does it catch the eye of the residents. It usually takes several months for the sign to be noticed.

The kandala is an insect that lives only at night. At night they come out of hiding, bite a person and hide until dawn. If people are away from home for a long time and the parasites are very hungry, they may come out into the light to bite, but this rarely happens. They hide in their pockets. Therefore, people often cannot find them. They usually hide in sofas and beds, seams of mattresses, joints of upholstered parts of furniture, frames, and cracks. They can also often be found behind tiles, on the back walls of furniture, under window sills, in computer system units - invisible to people and in narrow, hollow places.

- How to prevent it?

- No one can know at what time and under what conditions the shackles will penetrate the house. For example, he may come home clinging to his clothes on public transport. Therefore, preventive measures cannot be taken. The fight against shackles is carried out only after it is established that they have appeared.

- Do I need to take out all the furniture in case of shackles?

-  Upholstered furniture is one of the items that must be treated when disinsection against bedbugs, since this is where bedbugs often hide and nest. Of course, when carrying out processing work, all measures are taken to avoid unplanned losses for homeowners and to eliminate pests from furniture. But if it doesn’t work out, you’ll have to give up the furniture.
